Science can be outlined as a branch of information addressing with a body of facts systematically organized and showing the operation of general laws.
Science can be divided into five major categories:

1. Social science
2. Formal science
3. Life science
4. Physical science
5. Applied science

Social science

Social science deals with the study of human society and of individual relationships in and to society. It consists of the scientific study of the human aspects of the world. The Social sciences often diverge from the arts and humanities in that they tend to put emphasis in the use of scientific method in the study of humanity. The major advantage of pursuing in social science is that it provides one with the opportunity to develop skills employers’ value in employees. Major branches of social science include:

Formal science

Formal science is an area of study that uses formal systems to generate knowledge. Example of formal science include

Life science

It comprises of the fields of science that involve the scientific study of living organisms and human beings, as well as related considerations like bioethics.
Life science is very in improving the quality and also the standard of life. Life science fields consist of

• pathology
• physiology immunology
• health sciences
• microbiology

Physical science

This type of science studies physics and chemistry of nature. There are four major principles of physical science. They comprise of:

• Principles of physics
• Principles of astronomy
• Principles of chemistry
• Principles of earth science

Applied science

This type of science applies the existing scientific knowledge to develop more practical applications. Applied science comprise of:

• Agriculture
• Architecture and design
• Engineering
• Law
• Social work
• Transportation

In accordance to the level of education science subject can be divided into

High school

Once in high school, you have no choice about the subjects to take. Science subjects are mandatory in high school. Subjects such as mathematics, chemistry, biology chemistry are often compulsory. This is because such subjects prepare you for college and also it’s through this subjects you learn how things work and also study the world around you.

College

In college you have the power to select the type of science to pursue. You have to be more careful when selecting those subjects this is because it’s in college where you build your life long career.  You can take subjects from the physical science and combine them with subjects from the biological, mathematical or earth science.
